Objective: Build rhythmic awareness, body alignment, and understanding Anga Suddhi of Nritya.

 

Theory: Explore the origin and evolution of Kathak, understand its fundamental concepts such as Taal, Laya, Tatkaar, Hastak, Anga, Bhav, and Abhinaya, and learn about the Guru-Shishya Parampara.


Practical Training: Develop your skills in Tatkaar (footwork), Tihai (rhythmic patterns), Chakkars (spins), Hastaks (hand movements), Toda, Tukra, Paran (compositions), and Abhinaya (expression) through practical exercises and mini-abhinaya sessions.

Kathak

Intermediate

Deepen Tech Knowledge - 3-5 years*

 

Objective: Deepened technical knowledge , rhythm play, and emotional expression.

 

Theory and Practical Training: Explore the foundations of Kathak, including Gharanas, Taals, Tatkaar, Tihai, Chakkars, Abhinaya, and Nritya Yoga, to develop technical skill and rhythmic expression.

 

Aesthetic Development: Cultivate emotional depth through understanding Bhav Paksh, Musicality, and Gat Nikas, as well as refinement of skills through presentation and Nritya Yoga exercises.

Advanced

Mastery, individuality - Year 6 onwards*

Objective: Mastery, individuality, and performance-level refinement.

 

Theory and Practical Training: Delve into the theoretical foundations of Kathak, including Taal notation, Abhinaya, Gat, and Natyashastra references, while honing practical skills in Tatkaar, Layakari, Tihai, Abhinaya, and choreography.


Spiritual Growth and Mentorship: Cultivate a deeper connection with dance as Sadhana, merging movement with divinity through meditation and breathwork, and develop mentorship skills to guide others on their own spiritual

Beginner

Objective: Build foundational skills in posture, rhythm, and basic adavus.

 

Details: Exercises to improve flexibility and body postures. Theory- Prayer slokas, Asamyukta and Samyukta Hastas. Basic foot positions and postures

Details: Exercises to improve stamina, flexibility and body postures Theory- Bhedas from Abhinaya Darpana, Introduction to Tala system (rhythm)

 

Practical Training:  Adavu combinations and experiments, Introduction to Bhava and Rasa, Alarippu (invocatory piece), Simple Jatiswaram (pure dance item), Keerthanams/ Bajans. Simple enactments of mythological stories, Mudras in storytelling

Advanced

Mastery, individuality - Year 6 onwards*

Objective: Mastery of technique, choreography, and performance skills.

Details: Exercises to improve Breath control, stamina, flexibility and body postures.
 

Theory: Vinyogas and introduction to Natyashastra and Nattuvangam

 

Practical Training:  Padams and Javalis (expressive pieces), Varnam, Tillana (concluding item), Group choreography and solo performance, introduction to Nirtha hasthas, Caris Karanas

ANNUAL PLAN (JUNIOR GROUP) AGE: 5 years to 10 years

ANNUAL PLAN (SENIOR GROUP) AGE: 11 years + and Adults

Objective: The annual visual art plan aims to engage children aged 5 to 10 in creative exploration, skill-building, and cultural appreciation, guiding them to express ideas and emotions visually while developing technical proficiency and observational skills.


Mediums Used:
Students explore a wide range of media including color pencils, crayons, craft materials, pencil shading, and watercolor throughout the year.


Learning Outcomes:
Children gain hands-on experience in pattern-making, crafting, composition, live object observation, and festival themes, growing in artistic creativity, technical abilities, and cultural sensitivity.

Objective: The overall objective of this senior visual art plan is to cultivate students’ creative expression and technical skills through advanced observation and experimentation with various artistic media.


Mediums Used:
Students explore pencil shading, watercolour, mixed media (combining pencil, watercolour, ink, collage), acrylic on canvas/paper, tempera paint, and charcoal art.


Learning outcomes:
Emphasis is placed on mastery in representing live and reference subjects, layering techniques, and effective colour application, enabling students to create expressive and culturally informed artworks that reflect both traditional and contemporary visual art practices

Beginner

Foundation 1–2 years*

 

Objective: Build awareness of Indian classical swaras, rhythm (taal), and vocal discipline.

 

Theory: Learn basic musical terms: Swar, Saptak, Thaat, Alankar, Taal. Introduction to essential taals (Teentaal, Dadra, Keharwa), and basic notation systems.

 

Practical Training: Practice basic alankars (note patterns), sargam exercises, and sing simple bandish or compositions in beginner ragas (Yaman, Bhupali, Bhairav, Kafi etc). Experience vocal exercises for flexibility and basic bhajans or light songs.

Indian Classical Vocals

Intermediate

Develop Voice & Raag Understanding 3–5 years


Objective: Deepen knowledge of raags and taals, improve modulation, and develop expressive singing.


Theory and Practical Training: Explore raag structure, voice modulation, taals, and learn notation styles of Bhatkhande and Paluskar. Study and perform compositions in intermediate ragas, demonstrate voice modulation, and rhythmic accuracy.


Aesthetic Development: Advance emotional expression through bandish, bhajans, develop layakari (tempo variations), introduce taan and aalap techniques, and refine presentation through solo and group practice. 

Advanced

Objective: Achieve technical mastery, develop unique artistry, and prepare for performance-level presentations.


Theory and Practical Training: Study advanced raga theory, improvisation, vilambit and drut khayal, complex taals, and advanced compositions. Develop improvisation techniques (taan, sargam, bol), and perform advanced repertoire. Advance emotional development with bandishs and bhajans.


Mentorship and Artistry: Mentor juniors, study musicology and composition, enhance stage presence, and synthesize knowledge to express individuality in performance and teaching.

Beginner

Foundation 1–2 years*


Objective: Build basic vocal awareness, breathing control, and understanding of pitch and rhythm.


Theory: Explore the origins of Western singing, basic vocal anatomy, breathing techniques, and musical elements such as pitch, melody, rhythm, and note values.


Practical Training: Develop skills through daily warm-ups, breathing and pitch exercises, simple solfège, and the singing of easy songs. Practice performance in group and solo settings to build confidence.
